Aamir reduced 8 kgs of weight and also shed his muscles that he had built for his previous release Ghajini. The film Three Idiots is shot at various locations in the country in cities like Laddakh, shimla, Mumbai, Bagalore and Delhi. A big part of the film is also shot in Indian Institute Of Management, Bangalore.

The film has been confirmed to hit the world wide theatres and cinema screens on December 25, 2009. According to a survey and public reviews of Three Idiots in India, the film is at number one position in most anticipated and much awaited film of season 2009.
